2019 – Received a “Lifetime Achievement Award” from Electric City Music Conference.

Carl Canedy is a musical visionary, elite musician and dedicated producer. As an original member of Manowar and legendary metal outfit The Rods, Canedy has become one of the premiere metal drummers of our time. He has toured extensively supporting Iron Maiden, Twisted Sister, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, Scorpions and Rainbow. A master craftsman in the studio, Canedy has produced over 35 albums since the early '80s and in 2014 released his critically acclaimed debut solo album appropriately titled Headbanger.

2017 finds Canedy more active than ever. The Rods have recently signed an exclusive worldwide recording deal with legendary German label Steamhammer/SPV. Along with writing new material for their upcoming album "Louder Than Loud", The Rods are doing exclusive live dates in Las Vegas (Psycho Las Vegas) and Cortland, NY (Main St Music Series) with several other shows to be announced this spring. His side project Canedy, which includes bassist Tony Garuba, guitarist Charles Russello and vocalist Mike Crow have eight songs recorded for their sophomore album. The band has also contributed a fresh recording of THE GODZ classic "Gotta Keep A Runnin'"for the upcoming GODZ tribute CD.

Canedy's late 70's band Kelakos recently released a brand new song, "Florida Flash Flood" on iTunes and Amazon while his "dirty little secret" band from the 90's, St James released "Resurgence" - an album of past recordings, which Canedy produced and played drums. If that isn't enough, Carl is working on a personal solo project titled "Under The Influences", a collection of covers that pay tribute to his favorite and most revered groups. Keeping his chops sharp, the drummer continues to play regularly with Scranton–based The Jeffrey James Band and has recently produced a local Gospel group from Northern Pennsylvania called The Spark Gospel Group.

With his production skills constantly in high demand, Canedy is currently producing a two–song single with Held Hostage, an elite band out of Syracuse, NY. One of the tracks, “Show Me The Way Back Home”, was written about Veterans with plans for the proceeds to assist Vietnam Veterans of America and Victory For Vets. The track features, Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow) on vocals, Tom Collier (Held Hostage/Songwriter) and Allen Van Wort on guitars, Wade Preston (Movin' Out) on Piano, Mike Lepond (Symphony X, RTB) on bass and Canedy on drums.
